Hands down, we just love engagement shoots! Our kind of perfect? An engagement shoot at home. Rings true? Nothing beats the coziness and beauty of intimacy captured in its simplest form: two people who spend quality time together in their favorite place.
This sweet November engagement inspiration is all about the little things we all do as couples to express our love and cuddle or play with our pup, writing a love note (you look so beautiful today, thank you for washing the dishes, will you marry me?), pouring a pot of coffee, sharing breakfast or tucking a small gift under the morning paper.
Iokasti from Mazi Events chose our couple’s clothing centering around items that many couples regularly wear at home, striped pajama pants and a plain white t-shirt for Paul and pretty, easy intimates and a knitted granny shawl for Zoe. We just had to throw in two more elaborate lacey pieces from Anem that Zoe later changed into to surprise her beau with a wedding proposal. Of course, as Chirography’s pin-worthy calligraphed paper goods illustrate: he said yes!
Frantzeska kept Zoe’s makeup very natural as engagement photography doesn’t necessarily mean bridal makeup. The first part of the shoot took place in the couple’s bedroom, between simple crisp sheets, while the second on a minimal lunch balcony deck. Mazi events also created a niche with an antique oak secretaire, Zoe’s study at home. Redboxdays selected an easy color palette of dark berries and spices to add the final elegant touch.
Casual and comfortable can be tremendously romantic so, through the medium of both film and digital imagery of this hybrid shoot, we showed the light and glow of these romantic fleeting moments in a couple’s new life together and we hope it’ll have your heart skipping a beat.
