The whole affair, starting from the bridal preparations, followed by the couple’s adorable first look and all the way through the evening wedding dinner was held at the farm, the intimate ceremony with touching vows was beautifully set at the farm’s little chapel under the olive trees and surrounded by acres of budding grape vines. Guests were greeted with glasses of chilled local wine and the chapel’s door decorated with simple macrame matching the wedding details was the perfect backdrop to the ceremony itself. After the “I dos” guests showered the newlyweds with dried olive leaves and headed to the estate’s balcony to enjoy a glass of champagne before being seated for the wedding dinner, a true and enormous Cretan feast of exquisite dishes. After the couple’s first dance and a joyous cake cut guests danced the night away accompanied by both local and international music and the ever present song of Cretan cicadas.
